About Us

SSHRD is an student-led organization dedicated towards helping UH students further their understanding of human resource development while providing an avenue to make lasting friendships. SSHRD hosts professional, fundraising, volunteering, and social events throughout the semester. Some highlights from the Fall 2017 semester include public speakers from Chevron's L&D department and a volunteer walk with the ALS Association of Texas. See our gallery for pictures from all the events.

Vision and Mission

Vision
To equip our members with a powerful HRD acumen by extending student professional involvement.

Mission
SSHRD aims to expand its professional footprint in the Houston HRD community through extensive student engagement. Through meetings and collaborated projects [volunteering, fundraiser, networking events], we will expand our understanding of group dynamics – and we will gain valuable experience from this, as to one day be able to apply what we have learned to further our Human Resource Development careers.
